2017-2018 Board of Directors

The FPW Board is more than an Advisory Board; we are a working Board of Directors that meets monthly. Each board meeting begins with a prayer meeting to pray for the requests submitted at the monthly luncheons. Each board member has a description of their responsibilities and committee assignments, and signs an annual covenant of their commitment and confidentially.

Cynthia Mickens Ross - President

  • Cynthia Mickens RossCynthia Mickens Ross is a dynamic and charismatic Speaker, Teacher, Coach, and Author. She offers words of wisdom that are thought-provoking and life-changing. Cynthia believes you must seek God for your life purpose and not others. She is determined to lead others into their divine destiny and her motivational message inspires people to discover that purpose is essential to living the life they are created to live. She has authored, and teaches, a 12-week spiritual and personal development course entitled, "Path~Way to Purpose®." Her program helps individuals discover their natural gifts, talents, and abilities. Since its inception in 2002, "Path~Way to Purpose®" has been a resounding success helping to transform the lives of countless individuals. Cynthia serves as the Director of Community Relations & External Affairs at Methodist Charlton Medical Center and is the Senior Pastor of Path~Way to Life Center of Hope Church in Hutchins, Texas. She also serves as Founder & CEO of Cynthia Mickens Ministries, Inc. and the Path~Way to Purpose® Residential Housing program. She is an executive board member and chair of the Best Southwest Partnership Health Care Committee, board member of Leadership Dallas Alumni, and Children's Medical Center Health and Wellness Alliance, Cynthia is married to the love of her life, David E. Charlene Sims - President Elect

  • Charlene SimsCharlene Sims, successful entrepreneur, businesswoman and speaker, founded The Master's Press in 1976 when she was a young, single 25 year old. She has worked in every aspect of the printing business through the years and has ink running through her veins being rapidly infused with toner. She loves the opportunity to enable her customers to market their products in an effective manner and tell their story in print. She also loves to mentor, encourage and build and up the lives of the team members in her business, in her industry, her church, Toastmasters and her overall personal life. Very active in Toastmasters, she has achieved the Distinguished TM educational level and has served in many aspects of leadership in her club and the district. She has also spent many years serving as Chair Woman and a board member of NAQP and NAPL, two national associations for the printing industry. She has held many leadership roles in her church as well as other non-profit organizations serving on several boards over the years. Charlene's biggest passion in life is to tell her encouraging and convicting account of the endless grace of God as told through her own life story when she speaks to groups. Married for over 29 wonderful years to a man who loves her well, Steve Sims is the love of her life. He is a missionary with E3 Partners Ministry. Myrna Acklin - Secretary

  • Myrna AcklinMyrna Acklin has attended Fellowship of Professional Women for about 10 years after retiring from Corporate American where she worked for an Insurance Company. She has attended many Bible studies over the years including Next Step through Life Mark Ministries for the last 15 years with many of those years in a leadership capacity. Myrna has served on the Board of South Collin County Infant Program, Richardson Development Center, Marriage Mentors and Golden Corridor Republican Women. In 2013, the National Federation of Republican Women Convention was held in Kentucky, which Myrna attended as an alternate delegate. In addition, she has attended several state conventions as a delegate with the Texas Federation of Republican Women. She has worked numerous times as an Election Clerk for local, state and national elections and along with her husband, Ed, has been a State Delegate for the Republican Party the last 2 years. Myrna has been married to Ed for 19 years, has two grown sons and 2 granddaughters. Having raised a special needs child of her own, Myrna's heart and passion is for the families of those with special needs. They attend Prestonwood Baptist Church.

Elisabeth Humphries - Treasurer

  • Elisabeth HumphriesM. Elisabeth Humphries is an outstanding Christian leader with 20+ years of Fortune 500 industry experience in Operations, Quality, Sales, and Strategic Management. In 2004 she left the corporate world and formed Next Level Strategies, NLStrategy.com a consulting team helping small business owners implement Fortune 500 systems and principles. The change allowed her to balance work-life and spend more time being a mom to her then 4 year old son. In 2011 Elisabeth joined Preferred Technology Solutions, PreferredTechnology.com, where she currently serves as Director of Operations. Established in 1994, PTS is a premier systems integrator providing information technology solutions. Elisabeth and her husband Bryan are active members of Highland Park United Methodist Church and enjoy local Dallas theatre where their son often performs. As an outspoken woman, Elisabeth clings to Proverbs 17: 27-28.

Tammy Simmons - Director

  • Tammy SimmonsTammy's mortgage banking career spans over 25 years and has a long tenure of 12 years with Independent Bank. She has seen many versions of the mortgage market and has a wealth of experience and knowledge to best advise her clients and strategic partners. Tammy helps her clients understand the options available to them and works with them to develop a mortgage strategy that works within the client's budgetary, equity, and overall financial objectives. Her superior customer service skills drive her repeat and referral based business. Tammy has long roots in the Plano community and attended Texas Tech University. She is a member of Northwood Woman's Club and through her membership serves as a volunteer for several nonprofit organizations. She is a graduate of MetroTex Association of Realtors Leadership Academy. Tammy attends church at the Village - Plano campus. She has one daughter and one grandson. IBHomeLoan.com

Elizabeth Paladino - Director

  • Elizabeth PaladinoElizabeth Paladino has been in the finance industry (IT Equipment Leasing) for over 18 years and manages an international equipment portfolio valued at over $300,000,000 for the company's number one salesman. Prior to finance, she worked in the hotel management industry and in oil and gas. In addition to finance, Elizabeth also has a business selling Premier Designs jewelry where she has opportunities to mentor and introduce women to Christ. Elizabeth has been married to Chris for 19 years and they live in Allen, Texas. They enjoy traveling to Center Ridge, AR and Marco Island, FL where they have property. Elizabeth has chaired several fundraisers where the goal was to gather food and raise money benefiting several nonprofits. She is a graduate of the Path~Way to Purpose course.

Cathy Mitchell - Director

  • Cathy MitchellCathy is a Broker with Keller Williams and is a graduate of MetroTex Leadership Academy. She credits Leadership Academy and Women's Council of REALTORS in preparing her for her current Leadership roles. She is very honored to have served as 2015 State WCR President. Her theme for the year is "Joy in the Journey". Cathy also serves on the MetroTex Board of Directors as Secretary Treasurer, Texas Association of REALTORS Board of Directors and the National Association of REALTORS Board of Directors. As much as Cathy loves all this, her greatest loves are her LORD, and her family. Cathy has 3 adult children, and 9 grandchildren. Cathy lives by "Doing the Right Thing because it's the Right Thing to Do"

Frances McGill - Director

  • Frances McGillFrances is Owner, "The McGill Coaching Group," "A Certified Coach (Life Coach) Practitioner," for more than five years; and, a retiree from the US Government for 30+ years. During her tenure with the EEOC, as Investigator, she defended one of her cases @ the Federal District Court, Tyler, TX. At, EEOC & Department of Labor, as District Director, Frances has coached, encouraged, mentored, lead, managed, trained; individuals - investigators, managers, leaders. Also, during her twenty + yrs employment with DOL, Frances was chosen to lead a "National Initiative, "The Glass Ceiling Initiative for Dallas, she was honored, recognized for an effective, successful investigation. She graduated from Prairie View A& M University with a BS degree. She also graduated with: two year "Leadership Program at Mountain View College, Leadership Southwest, and Leadership with the Oak Cliff Bible Church." She is a Life Member of "the Delta Sigma Theta," a National African American Sorority for more than thirty years. She volunteers with Oak Cliff Bible Church as A Deaconess, & Coach for a Small Groups of facilitators, Marital Group, Couples and any other individuals that are referred to her. Additionally, volunteers as a Board Member with the Dallas Women Council, where she serves as Secretary. Frances coaches, directs, leads her Life Coach clients to live a balanced life; in all areas of their lives.
